How do I enter the competition?
- Sign up for the competition here by entering your name and email.
- Complete the missions.
- Form your team at the Team page.
- Submit a great idea.
- Complete the Profile page.
- Complete the competition by the application submission deadline.
- Semi-finalists of the competition will be contacted by February 28, 2013.
I did not receive a confirmation email after signing up for the competition. What should I do?
If you did not receive a confirmation email within 5-10 minutes, try checking your spam box. Otherwise, please report the problem here.
What if my university name is not listed?
If the name of your university is not listed, please inform us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When is the deadline?
The deadline for your idea submission is 11:59 PM, Hong Kong Time, February 15, 2014.
Please make sure to check what the deadline time is in your country here.
Do I need to provide proof of enrolment?
If you are selected as a finalist, you need to provide an official document from your university confirming your enrolment and student status. The document can be obtained from your student services centre, international office or one of your professors.
Who is eligible to compete?
Students who meet the following criteria are eligible to compete:
- Business and engineering students,aged eighteen (18) years of age or older, pursuing their bachelor’s (at least 2nd year), master’s or MBA degree.
- Go Green in the City challenge is open to 2-member teams with at least 1 female member (note: both members must comply with the degree requirements stated above).
- Both of the team members must study in the same country for the duration of the competition. They are not, however, required to be from the same university, nor are they required to study the same subject or be in the same year, as long as they are not in their first year of their undergraduate education.
- Teams from all over the world are welcome to compete.
No exceptions can be made regarding the terms of the eligibility requirements.
I am having difficulty loading the page. I think it may be a browser issue. What are the recommended browsers to enter the challenge?
The latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Internet Explorer version 10 is also an option. We recommended you to use any of the mentioned browsers.
What happens if I don’t adhere to all the rules?
Student Competitions reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not follow the rules stated. Read more.
What can I win?
The winners will win a job opportunity at Schneider Electric and also win a fully funded trip around the world where they will get to visit Schneider Electric offices in two countries.
The winner can choose Schneider Electric offices in two countries to travel. The specifics of the offered position will match the requirements of Schneider Electric.
How will submissions be screened?
There will be two rounds of screening. In the first round Schneider Electric will select the top 100 teams based on the quality of their business case and performance in the challenge. These students will then compete in the regional semi-finals. From the top 100 teams Schneider Electric will select the top 12 teams who will be given the chance to present their ideas live at the final event in Paris.
What are the judging criteria when selecting the semi-finalists?
The judging criteria for each round are different. For selecting the top 100 teams Schneider Electric will score applications on the innovativeness and feasibility of their idea and also judge the candidates based on their statements of purpose and CVs.
Why will the system not let me finalize my submission?

Will I receive a certificate of achievement for my participation?
Yes, all participants who submit a full challenge will receive a digital certificate sent to his/her email from Student Competitions upon completing the challenge.
Can I enter the competition as an individual?
You must register for the competition as an individual. However, to submit a full entry/application you must register as a team of two.
I am having trouble uploading my documents (letter of enrollment, diploma, etc). What could be the problem?
Make sure the documents you are submitting are either .pdf or .jpg and do not exceed the 15 MB limit. Furthermore, do not use special characters (such as á,à,ä,ó) to name your documents. More info.
